My husband and I usually like to plan weeks in advance when it comes to trips, where we'll stay, what we'll do, where we'll eat and if there is anything in particular that we want to see. However, this time round I decided it would be even better if we just drove to Bath, showed up at a B&B and had a peaceful weekend away before 2 become 3.
We arrived in Bath at 12:30 and just as we were entering we were stuck in traffic for roughly 20 minutes. We parked, walked to the tourist information centre and asked if they could recommend any B&B's that we could go to, the lady laughed at us and looked at us as if we were crazy. From this moment on we heard the sentence 'sorry, but we're fully booked'. We spent about 1.5 hours looking for somewhere to stay and everything was so fully booked that Diego had already given up hope and was determined to drive back to London until someone recommend we check out a local guesthouse. So we did, we tried our luck and the host was kind enough to offer a room to us although she was technically not even meant to be there.
Anyway, on this weekend Bath was fully booked that we went out for dinner at 17:00 and only found somewhere to eat at 19:30. Everything was truly fully booked. We ended up staying in 17 Lansdowne Crescent (which I highly recommend) for the night. The room was spacious, the house was beautifully decorated, it had lovely views and it was a lot nicer than staying in a packed hotel.
By Sunday afternoon we were ready to come back home after visiting some cute local shops, the Roman Baths, walking around the narrow streets, visiting the very packed Christmas Market and having our first ever Sunday Roast at a local pub 'The Huntsman' which had good food as well as good service!
Despite Bath being fully booked due to their popular Christmas market and a rugby match, we had a lovely time just taking it easy.
Hugs xo
